GCA Second Friday Membership Socials
One of the more popular, member get-together opportunities we have are the GCA Second Friday Membership Meetings, which include potlucks and themed socials. These socials are open to GCA members and their guests and provide a great way to encourage our friends and neighbors to join the fun:
- Potluck Dinners – Bring a dish to share, beverage of choice and your place settings (place mats, flatware, plates, napkins, etc., cups or glasses.)
- Social Theme Dinners – Fully prepared and everything is provided — bring anything special you want to drink (Cost to be determined for each event)

All socials are held at the Horton Community Center on the “Second Friday” of the months listed at 6:00 PM.

November – Annual Election of Officers and Harvest Festival – Veterans Day Celebration Potluck
December 31 – New Year’s Eve Party – Horton Community Center 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Bring a snack to share, your beverage of choice.

Annual Fundraisers and Community Events
The Crab Feed and Grapeview Water and Arts Festival, both annual events, are fundraisers that support the GCA’s Community Outreach Programs; donations and scholarships made by the GCA for the betterment of the community.
February or March – GCA Members’ Annual Crab Feed (Friday & Saturday Evening). 5:30 – 5:30 PM is the social hour; 5:45 PM dinner is served. Held at the Horton Community Center. This is a ticketed event. BYOB and mixer, ice is provided. Cocktail Sauce and melted butter will be provided with dinner. No open flames are permitted! This is a ticketed event and all seats are reserved. When you check in, one of our waiters will show you to your seat!
July – Grapeview Water and Art Festival “is always the last Saturday in July” – 10:00 am until 4:00 pm – Fair Harbor Marina. Visitors come from miles away to attend our elegant event. All visitors are welcome.
December – Children’s Party “Snacks with Santa” (First or Second Saturday) – 10:00 am – Horton Community Center (all children are welcome).
GCA Board Meetings & Study Sessions
The GCA Board Meetings (even months) and Study Sessions (odd months) are on the First Thursday of the month starting in January and are attended by the Executive Board and the Standing Committee Chairs.
Most of the GCA business is conducted at these meetings except on two occasions: the election of officers in November, always held at the Second Friday Event; at the January Potluck, when we have the installation of new officers and when the Board reports the previous year’s business to the membership.
All GCA members are invited to attend the 10:00 AM meetings which are held at the Horton Community Center.
