Grapeview Community Association Scholarship Program

Every spring since 2009, the Grapeview Community Association has been offering college scholarships to one or more high school seniors. The amount of the award varies depending on the number of qualified applicants and the amount of money that has been raised by the association during the previous year from the annual Crab Feed in February and the Grapeview Water and Art Festival in July. Scholarship awards have generally ranged from $500 to $2000.

To qualify for a GCA scholarship, students must be graduating from an accredited high school. Students who attended Grapeview School for one or more years will have special consideration, but all seniors may apply. The award may be used at any state or private university, college, vocational/technical school or trade school in the United States that is accredited by the state where it is located or by industry. Evaluation considerations for awards include academic achievement, financial need, involvement in school, service and community activities (particularly in the Grapeview community), and evidence of work in high school that shows preparation for further education and the student’s major/career plan.

Seniors attending North Mason High School or James Taylor High School will apply through the Scholarship Notebook program using the deadline established by the school for that. 

Students at other high schools should apply through the Google Forms application no later than March 15th. 

Decisions are generally made in April of each year and students will be notified about award decisions by late May. Awards are sent directly to the student’s college or university once proof of enrollment is received.
